You can do this using the WebDAV or FTP connection.

Just drag a Photo field to the top of the fields list for your form. The image will be placed to the left of the next two fields.

Unfortunately at this time there's no Remove Contact function. I'll have to add that. Sorry about that.

This function is already available. Just drag a field up or down. There are 3 horizontal lines at the right of each field. That's a grab handle. Just tap, hold, and drag up and down. Let go when the field is in the place you'd like it to be.

You could have simply dragged the field up to where you wanted it to be. On the Form Edit screen where all the fields are listed below, there is a grab handle on the right. Tap, hold for a sec, then drag up and down. Release when your field is in the correct location.

Do you mean having two dates & times and Tap Forms would calculate the duration? Or just a set of wheels to enter in the number of days, minutes, hours, and seconds?

The WebDAV server allows you to upload files that you will then import into Tap Forms. There's not much difference between the FTP server and the WebDAV server other than the mechanism used to transfer the files. The end result is the same. A CSV file that is uploaded via FTP or WebDAV can be imported into Tap Forms.

This would be awesome to have. Unfortunately the Red Laser people who write the SDK for other iPhone developers want to take a cut of every copy of Tap Forms I sell. Worse than that, they want to see all my financial statements which I'm not about to do. I'll keep my eye open for a more reasonable bar code scanner SDK.

    Thanks,

    Brendan

I am working on a Mac version. But the SyncDocs program works fine on the Mac to save your backups. You can access your backups by pressing the "Show Downloads" button in SyncDocs.

    Thanks,

Funny you should ask for that. My 1.8.2 update got rejected by Apple because I had an icon that looked like an iPod. So I changed it to a different icon.

This is the normal behaviour of Tap Forms. You don't need to create a new form for every record. You just have to add records to the same form to store different information. Then if you change the form, all the records will inherit that change.

Ideally it would be great if we were allowed to add entries to the Calendar app from within other apps. Just like we can add contacts to the Contacts database from our apps. That way you wouldn’t need to launch an app to see if there’s a reminder waiting for you. Although eventually when Apple releases the Push Notification Service we should be able to provide something like that.

    Feature request noted. Thanks!

Admintapforms (Admin, Tap Forms) commented  ·

Yes, I think $0.99 would be appropriate. That's what I was thinking.

    Thanks!

    Brendan

Well, I've been contemplating subscribing to one of the push notification services, but this will cost me a monthly fee. So I was thinking of adding it as an in-app purchase option. What do you think about that?

Printing would be cool. But unfortunately Apple doesn't provide any printer drivers or an SDK for printing directly from the iPhone.

I'm not really sure the text field that I'm using allows this sort of thing. But hey, if it can be done with Mail, then I'm sure I can do it. Well, as long as the API for that isn't private.

Are you saying you'd just like to see the coordinates listed maybe underneath the address? What would GPS coordinates be useful for without the map? If it's just to store the coordinates, you could always just use a text field. But I guess you want it to automatically find the location for you.

It’s possible to do this by emailing yourself your pick list with each word or phrase on a single line, then using iPhone 3.0’s copy and paste function to paste your words or phrases into the Pick List edit screen in Tap Forms.

Admintapforms (Admin, Tap Forms) commented  ·

If you want to be able to pick one of your contacts, simply create a Contact field in Tap Forms and pick your contact when filling out your form. You don't need a Pick List for that.

When you edit a date field, it auto sets the date to the current field. But you have to tap the Save button to save it since I don’t even create the object until you enter that screen. Then tapping the save button will of course insert into the database.

There is a built-in date_created field that I have not yet exposed to the interface. It auto sets to the current timestamp, but is not editable.

Admintapforms (Admin, Tap Forms) commented  ·

If you had a bunch of date, time, and date/time fields (new in 1.7), then I guess I'd have to loop through them all setting them to the current times when you create a new record. I suppose I could add that for a future update.
