    Hi Scott,

Is this for a multi-select pick list or a single-select pick list?

    Thanks,

    Brendan

There's lots of different ways this can be done. I'm kicking around a few ideas, but I don't have a timeline for this one yet. Busy working on other parts and Tap Forms Mac.

My next update supports multi-select Pick Lists which should give you the functionality you need.

You can email all the records within a form. On the record list view, tap the action menu and tap "Email Records". You can also email a form template to another user by tapping the action button on the "Edit Form" screen and tapping "Email Form".

You can always turn on full database encryption. This is the most secure option and will let you enter in an alpha-numeric encryption key password.

You can use your own IDs as long as they're globally unique. An existing record in the CSV file will use the record ID to match to the records in the database and all values associated with that record will be updated instead of inserted. If a new record is in the CSV file with a new globally unique ID, Tap Forms will use that ID instead of the auto-generated internal ID. Just make sure your IDs are globally unique across all forms, not just within the one form. I need to change the constraint on the database to include the form_id as well as the record_id so that you could have the same record ID across different forms. But I haven't tackled that yet.

Admintapforms (Admin, Tap Forms) commented  ·

As long as you have the record ID in the CSV file you're importing, Tap Forms will perform an update instead of an insertion. You just need to be on the form before you do the import records. That is, from the list of records view for your form or from the Edit Form screen.

This is no longer true. Backups are stored on the iPhone now. You can delete them by swiping your finger across a backup file on the Backup & Restore screen. The red Delete button will appear. Tapping Delete will delete the backup from your phone. Make sure you use iTunes File Sharing to make copies of your backup files before you delete them from your device.

Admintapforms (Admin, Tap Forms) commented  ·

Backups are stored on your desktop computer in a timestamped directory. You can just delete the old backups from the computer. No backups are stored on the phone itself.

    Hello Michael,

Yes, this is definitely something that should be in there and it's definitely on my to-do list.

    Thanks,

    Brendan

I'm sorry you feel that way. But 2 minutes isn't really a good time span to really give it a try. Is there anything specific you could tell me that you didn't like about the app? Do you have any suggestions on how to make it better? I have a new update in the works which provides a new calculation field type plus full database-level strong encryption.

That's a great idea! I'll have to think about where that would go. Maybe on the Files tab.

    Thanks!

This is a good idea. I had always hoped to be able to do something like that. But then I realized... what if you have 1000 records or more? That would be way too many pins to put on a map.

Just make sure you encrypt the fields with your most sensitive information. They would need to know your encryption key to unscramble the text.

Admintapforms (Admin, Tap Forms) commented  ·

Would you care to elaborate on your question? Tap Forms uses AES 256 bit encryption for encrypting the fields you've designated as being encrypted.

I don't think this would be of any use really. The data structure I use inside the SQLite database is very specific to the operation of Tap Forms. So each SQL statement is very specifically tailored to its operation.

I was asked to put a confirmation dialog in because people were accidentally tapping the dial button without the app warning them.

Admintapforms (Admin, Tap Forms) commented  ·

Yes, Tap Forms will dial the phone when you tap the blue circle icon to the right. Tapping the row lets you edit the number. Tapping the blue circle icon dials the phone number (with a confirmation dialogue).

Actually I'm already doing this for the iPad version, so it won't be much to make it work on the iPhone version too. Consider it done.

Wow, that's quite a lot of forms and folders! I'll see what can be done about that for a future update.

    Thanks,

    Brendan

Tap Forms already has a built-in web server.

This sounds interesting. I'll take a closer look at this idea when I implement saved searches.
